Gospel Sparks (“Gospel Sparks” or “the app”) is made by Strategy Loom LLC (“we”, “us”). We designed Gospel Sparks so that we don’t collect any information about you. This policy explains what the app keeps on your devices, and the few places it works with Apple or opens other websites.
What we collect
Nothing. Gospel Sparks has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It does not send your information to Strategy Loom or anyone else, and it has no server of its own. (During the beta, Apple’s TestFlight shares a few things with us; see Beta testing below.)
What Gospel Sparks stores, and where
- On your device: what you enter and choose in the app. On the Teacher side that’s your class and class name, the name the app greets you by, your class list (first names), helper jobs, supply checklists, Mystery Helper and after-class notes. On the Family side it’s your family name, your kids’ ages and optional names, and which daily sparks you’ve finished. It also keeps settings like sound effects. All of this stays in the app on your iPhone or iPad.
- In your iCloud, if sync is on: when Sync with iCloud is on (it is unless you turn it off), a copy of those saved settings is kept in your own iCloud key-value storage so your devices stay the same. Apple provides this storage under your Apple Account, and Apple’s privacy policy applies to it. Strategy Loom can’t see it. Turn the switch off and the app keeps everything on that device only.
The lessons, games and family sparks themselves are built into the app. Gospel Sparks doesn’t download content or send anything you type to any service, including AI services.
This website
gospelsparks.com has no accounts, ads, analytics, tracking or cookies, and no forms. If you pick your class on the This Week page, your browser remembers that choice in its own local storage so the page opens to your class next time. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it. The tilt option in the web games reads your device’s motion only while a game is playing, and nothing is sent anywhere. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) handles basic request information to deliver the pages, and the site’s font is loaded from Google Fonts.
Microphone
Only the Noise Meter uses the microphone, and only after you allow it. It measures how loud the room is, on your device, to move the meter. Sound is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. You can turn microphone access off anytime in the Settings app › Gospel Sparks.
Motion
Forehead Guess uses your device’s motion sensors to notice when you tip it down (got it) or up (pass). This is read in the moment on your device and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Links to other websites
Scripture references, Come, Follow Me manual links, general conference talks and song lookups open in Gospel Library or on churchofjesuschrist.org, which are run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The app only opens those pages when you tap a link; once there, that site’s own privacy policy applies. Gospel Sparks doesn’t add anything about you to those links.
Sharing
When you tap Share with families, the app opens Apple’s share sheet with a short note about the lesson. You choose whether to send it and who receives it. Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.
Beta testing, crash reports and email
While Gospel Sparks is in beta, it’s installed through Apple’s TestFlight. Apple runs TestFlight. When you use a TestFlight beta, Apple shares some things with us: your tester information (such as the name and email on your TestFlight invitation, if you were invited by email), crash reports, basic usage details from TestFlight, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. Apple’s TestFlight terms and privacy policy apply. If you have turned on sharing with app developers on your device, Apple may also send us anonymous crash and diagnostic reports. We use these only to fix problems.
If you email us, we’ll see your email address and whatever you include, and we use it only to reply to you.
Children
Gospel Sparks is used by teachers and parents, often on a screen that children look at together. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. First names and ages that a grown-up enters stay on that person’s own devices and, if sync is on, in their own iCloud.
Deleting your data
You can remove names and notes in the app at any time. Deleting Gospel Sparks removes its data from that device. To stop keeping a copy in iCloud, turn off Sync with iCloud first; to remove what’s in iCloud, clear your names, notes and progress in the app while sync is still on, so the cleared versions replace the iCloud copy, then turn sync off. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
